Orug

The Orug and Humans are descended from a common ancestor. This means they very easily interbreed. However, their differences often prevent this. The Orug were enslaved by Giants for several centuries, and their race has evolved into something somewhat… less than human. They had their appearance altered by magic, labor, and even torture. They have enlarged canines, large eyes, and are very powerfully built.

A large group of them escaped from Giant captivity and made their way through the northern end of the Iron Peaks to where many barbaric humans lived in Tribes. They were welcomed immediately upon their arrival, which the Tribe they found saw as the fulfillment of a Prophecy about the “Lost ones returning home”. They now live with that tribe. The species of the child of a Human-Orug union is solely determined by the species of the father.

Elves infrequently come in contact with Orug, but when they do they are cautious. Civilized humans view them as degenerate brutes. Dwarves respect their prowess in battle, but many remember fighting them as well as Giants. Other Races either do not know of the Orug or have no opinion of them.

The Orug replace both Orcs and Half-Orcs in Kallan
